YOUR REASONABLE SERVICE

RO 12:1 Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.
RO 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect

“….to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice…” Rom12:1. In what way are you willing to serve God? Serving God can be in many forms. It could be your witness for God in your work place. It could be just making yourself available to God to do whatever He asks. What does God indicate to you to do – helping those in need physically or spiritually, praying for those who may be sick and needing comfort, is it teaching the character of God? If you make yourself available there is much you can be do for the glory of God.

“…which is your spiritual service of worship…” Ram 12:1 Serving God may also include your worship of God. The often asked question – what is worshiping God? Is it attending a church worship service? Is it being completely devoted to God serving Him in the way He is leading? Could it include being a faithful witness for God in your daily life? Devotion to God in a reasonable way free from sin may be your form of worship. Worship of God is more than just attending church services, Bible studies or any other church function. Doing what you can for God’s Glory.

Being there for God is just as important as God being there for us.

“…And do not be conformed to this world…” Rom 12:2 If you work in the world or are involved in any community activities one must have to be very careful that you do not become conformed to worldly thinking or worldly things. Most everyone has heard of the NFL Super Bowl. The Super Bowl this year (2012) will be in Indianapolis, IN. The Super Bowl game is on Sunday February 5, 2012 and that is what many think of when the Super Bowl is discussed. The Super bowl game is for the NFL championship of the season. But the celebrating and playing in the host city begins at least 10 days before game is actually played. The host city and other companies spend millions of dollars preparing for that one game. You just cannot imagine the amount of dollars that are spent to entertain and play for a week. Commercial companies and the NFL spend millions of dollars entertaining providing ways for people to play for that 10 days leading up to the Super Bowl. This is an extravagant way that one can be involved in the world. But what about what is happening in your daily world? What about the gossip, the social activities in your work world?

Make the distinction and separate yourself from the world?

“…be transformed by the renewing of your mind…” Rom 12:2 One has to constantly in personal study to continue to grow and to develop an understanding of God. One has to be willing to change to learn and develop a more personal relationship with God. This transformation can only come by prayer, study and serving God with a whole heart and mind. It has to be a spiritual thing. The renewing of your mind is something that is never fully achieved. It is something that is constantly ongoing and growing.

“…you may prove what the will of God is…” Living Rom 12:1-2 then the will of God in your life will be evident to all especially yourself. Those to whom you are with will notice the transformation in your character to be more like God. This will be evident to all you know and meet.

All of this in Rom 12:1-2 is available only if you have gone before God to ask for forgiveness of your sins. Seeking total forgiveness is the only way to have a relationship with God. God expects a total surrender to him. MT 6:33 “But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you”

The Bible – Its Purpose

posted on this date   January 17th, 2012 . by Jerry Leavell

It has been observed there are many uses for the Holy Bible. Some use the Bible to teach a false doctrine inserting personal preferences when interpreting the word of God. Some use the Bible to fit their predetermined thinking. They have a preconceived idea before they even begin to apply the Word. Some will interpret the Bible to fit their lifestyle thus supporting their selfishness and sin. Some will use verses to support doctrines omitting verses that do not support their theology.

Some may carry their Bible to church then place it in the back seat of the car until the next time. Some may have a Bible on the coffee table in their living room. There it sits until it is dusted. Both situations give impressions, they think, that they are religious people. These people rarely open the Bible to understand the character of God.

Some people read the Bible but do not study the Bible for a determination of God’s character and God’s position on sin. They just do not seem to understand the Bible so they still live or meddle in sin while proclaiming to be Christians. They think they can still live the sinful lifestyle regardless of the words in the Bible. Evidently the Bibles does not mean anything to them as they continue in sin despite what they read. They don’t understand.

The Bible should be the guide to understand the character of God. God uses the Bible to teach about Himself and His Son Jesus and about the creation. The Bible is full of truths. Truths one should understand. God teaches about His creation and the relationship man is to have with the creation and to one another. (Gen 1:28-31) God also expresses His great sadness of the choices and the life style of man (Gen 6:5-7).

How often did God in the Bible warn or regret the decisions man has made. God promised the sons of Abraham they would occupy the Promised Land. God brought the Sons of Israel out of slavery in Egypt through the desert to the Promised Land providing for their needs and protecting them but what did they do when they got to the promised land. They did not trust God. Several years later when they went into the Promised Land God through His prophets warned the Israelites of the sinfulness. How the prophets did attempted to persuade the children of God to turn from their selfishness to a glorious relationship with Him. They were given the best but they lost it to other countries. God withdrew His protective hand from them because they did not trust in Him and Him alone. They loved selfishness and the world – sin.

The Sons of Israel came under the control of Babylon and Rome because of the sin. God became frustrated with the Sons of Israel He then established the New Covenant through the birth and ministry of His Son Jesus. Through the ministry of Jesus God established a New Covenant that included the Gentiles in this New Covenant. Through the death of Jesus on the Cross, the burial in a grave, the resurrection from the grave after 3 days, and the eventual ascension to the right hand of God the New Covenant was established.
In the New Covenant God expected man and woman to live a life free from sin – to live a life in harmony with the character of God. (Rom 12:1-2) Matthew, Mark, Luke and John teach Jesus and His establishment of the New Covenant and how man and woman are to live within this New Covenant. Paul, the gospel writers, James, Peter and John explain to the specific audiences they were addressing to live in an upright and obedient manner before. Nowhere does it allow for mankind to live selfishly or in sin.
God through Paul taught the consequences of not living in a personal relationship with God. Man cannot continue to live for self with little or no regard for God. There are consequences to all decisions.
Sin is destroying mankind. Mankind living selfishly is destroying each other. Mankind is of the belief they can do whatever they chose no one will get hurt. They believe there are no deadly consequences to their sinful choices. To them sin is ok. But is it ok? Revelations has much to say concerning sinful choices. There are consequences. What is the outcome of these choices? Can sin and righteousness coexist? (Rev 3:15-16, Rev 22:12-13)

The Lord, The Psalmist’s Shepherd

Psalm 23

PS 23:1 The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not want.
The shepherd of a flock of sheep is responsible for the well-being, protection and guidance of the sheep. The shepherd watches over the sheep being sure to keep them safe from predators. God watches over His people giving guidance wisdom and protecting them from sinners. God watches giving direction and wisdom through his Holy Spirit. God does provide for needs.
JN 14:16 “I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever;
JN 14:17 that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know
Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you.
JN 14:26 “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and
bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.

PS 23:2 He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters.
The image of a green pasture and tranquil waters brings the thoughts of quietness, peacefulness,
restfulness. This image should portray to us comfort and peace of mind. God will provide, while in
Him, an atmosphere of contentment – an escape from the troubles of the world.

PS 23:3 He restores my soul; He guides me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake.
God gives salvation – restoring to a right relationship with Him. The Holy Spirit will give guidance
that there may be a righteous life in Him. Because He is God and wants all His people to be in Him.

PS 23:4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
The valley of the shadow of death – this could be the work place or anywhere there would be those
who do not have a spiritual relationship with God. If one allows themselves to become involved in
fellowship with groups of the world this could lead to involvement in the very same sins of the world.
Work places are places of gossip, bickering, and other forms of conflicts and discontent. Places of sin
can be found in almost all social groups.

PS 23:5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You have anointed my head with oil;
My cup overflows.
In the image of the table of the last supper all was provided for the meal. God provides for the needs
of His people even in the surroundings of a sinful world. Anointing with oil brings the idea of God
providing physical well-being. God will provide blessings, more blessings than expected. God
will provide physical and spiritual blessings more than one can imagine.

PS 23:6 Surely goodness and loving kindness will follow me all the days of my life,
And I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
As one maintains a spiritual relationship with God there will then follow the ability to do good for
others. One will do for others out of concern and care for the person. There is a need and the person
of God will provide for that need through God.
Coming to a personal understanding and relationship with God realizing the things of the world do not
provide eternal peace and comfort so one must do all they can to be sure they are in a correct and full
relationship with God.
There is a life there with God that will give all that one could imagine – needs, spiritual contentment, protection from the sinful world. Spiritual peace is the big reward for obedience of God.

God Is Not Hard To Find

by J. W. Jepson, D.Min.

During a college psychology class a discussion turned to the subject of constructs. In psychology a “construct” is a group of mental impressions put together in a specific form to aid the imagination in its speculation. A construct does not exist in objective reality. It is only a mental form. It is useful only as a mental scaffold to help build more concrete understandings. Once it outlasts its usefulness, it can be discarded.

During the discussion a student asked the instructor, “is God a construct?”

The instructor replied that the existence of God is beyond the scope of science. Science deals with physical observations and experimentation. Being nonphysical and nonobservable as to His person. God is outside the jurisdiction of science.

The instructor was correct.

Does this mean that God has not made himself known? No. On the contrary. God has provided a full range of compelling evidences of himself-His existence, His nature, His will. When properly considered, to the honest inquirer these will be conclusive.

“But I must have absolute proof” the skeptic demands.

This is presumptuous, unfair, and futile. The Creator will not surrender His sovereignty or authority to any man. (and will not climb onto anyone’s laboratory table, squeeze into anyone’s test tube, slide under anyone’s microscope, and play specimen for any mortal who insists on being a validator of Deity.

More than any other challenge to the human mind, this search requires humility in the inquirer. But it is the one that elicits the most untempered pride. Often humility, objectivity, and diligence are most lacking. The reason is that the search confronts the person himself or herself most directly and totally-the ego, the value-system, the lifestyle, the issue of who shall be supreme. The unbeliever wants to avoid an honest encounter with the truth of God and the God of truth. The bias is not merely intellectual: it is moral.

On this subject, man cannot arrive at the truth by starting from himself. But the very nature of the inquiry, if we are to know God, God must reveal himself to us and we must honestly accept His self-revelation. We must follow God’s rules, including the indispensable conditions of humility and faith-reasonable faith-demanded by the evidence.

When we consider honestly the full testimony that God has given to us concerning himself, we must ask: What more can God say to us without shouting at us? What more can He do without forcing himself on us? Does the agnostic want God to come and forcibly crush all his cavils? Will additional evidence convince the person who refuses to give due consideration to the evidences now available examine further evidence?

Are most unbelievers giving this quest the diligence it deserves? No. They are not seeking after God. They are looking for a reason to avoid Him.

In her book, God Is No Fool, Lois A. Cheney wrote:

“I once knew a young man who was searching for God. And I was touched by his search; and I prayed for his search; and I loved his search.

“He read a lot of books. He thought and thought about their ideas. He talked to many people, in pairs and in groups; they matched their minds with his and they furthered his search. He walked and sought God in the rain. He climbed and sought God on the mountain. He closed himself off from the world and sought God in his soul.

“He would describe his searching and travels for truth. He would explain how he had meticulously and prayerfully sorted, rejected, and accepted.

“As the years went on, I changed from anticipating the recounting of his searches, to simply receiving them; to being bored with them: to avoiding them; and him. You see, he had fallen in love with his search.

“God just isn’t that hard to find”*

Yes, God has revealed himself to us. In a myriad of ways He is telling us things about himself, communicating so everyone who will listen can hear. For that reason the Bible does not attempt to prove the existence of God. He needs no proof. His own testimony is proof enough for the honest heart.

“He is not far from each one of us” (Acts 17:27,NIV). The moment you come to Jesus Christ, you will meet Him.

And what kind of proof is required? The answer of course is physical, empirical proof. The evidence must fit the unbeliever’s own specifications in order to meet a certain criteria for belief. In other words, the unbeliever tries to set the rules of inquiry and demands that God follow them. Making himself sovereign, the secularist proceeds to dictate the boundaries of acceptable information. Instead of considering the existing evidence, he insists on having other information as a precondition for personal faith.

Prophecy Fulfilled

posted on this date   December 13th, 2011 . by Jerry Leavell
God prophesied about 700 BC about the virgin birth of Jesus.  God sent his angel Gabriel (v26) to a young virgin in
Nazareth announcing the things that were going to be happening to her.  She was going to become with child by the
Holy Spirit and to give birth to the Son of God and they were to call Him Jesus (v31).   She was engaged to a fine
upstanding young man in the community (v27) but now she was pregnant by the Holy Spirit.
One must understand what was happening. This is a young virgin who was chosen from the lineage of David.  Miracles
were going to happen.  This was to be a virgin birth (v34), the baby was to be the Son of God (v32).  A new covenant was
going to be established through the baby Jesus (v33).
Because of the disobedience of the Sons of Israel God determined it was time to fulfill the prophecy from 700 years
before.  The books of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John give light of the events celebrated with Christmas.
Jesus’ Birth Foretold
LK 1:26
Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city in Galilee called Nazareth,
LK 1:27
to a virgin engaged to a man whose name was Joseph, of the descendants of David; and the virgin’s name was
Mary.
LK 1:28
And coming in, he said to her, “Greetings, favored one! The Lord is with you.”
LK 1:29
But she was very perplexed at this statement, and kept pondering what kind of salutation this was.
LK 1:30
The angel said to her, “ Do not be afraid, Mary; for you have found favor with God.
LK 1:31
“And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall name Him Jesus.
LK 1:32
“He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father
David;
LK 1:33
and He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and His kingdom will have no end.”
LK 1:34
Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, since I am a virgin?”
LK 1:35
The angel answered and said to her, “ The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will
overshadow you; and for that reason the holy Child shall be called the Son of God.
LK 1:36
“And behold, even your relative Elizabeth has also conceived a son in her old age; and she who was called barren is
now in her sixth month.
LK 1:37
“For nothing will be impossible with God.”
LK 1:38
And Mary said, “Behold, the bondslave of the Lord; may it be done to me according to your word.” And the angel
departed from her
Now there is the advantage to be able to know and understand the events that occurred through Mary and her fiancé
Joseph.  Joseph should be considered in the virgin birth as he had a decision to make concerning his pregnant fiancé.
Was he going to send her off to some place so that Mary would not disgrace the family being pregnant before they were
married v18-22)?
MT 1:18
Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: when His mother Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, before they
came together she was found to be with child by the Holy Spirit.
MT 1:19
And Joseph her husband, being a righteous man and not wanting to disgrace her, planned to send her away
secretly.
MT 1:20
But when he had considered this, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “ Joseph, son of
David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife; for the Child who has been conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.
MT 1:21
“She will bear a Son; and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.”
MT 1:22
Now all this took place to fulfill what was spoken by the Lord through the prophet:
MT 1:23
“BEHOLD, THE VIRGIN SHALL BE WITH CHILD AND SHALL BEAR A SON, AND THEY SHALL CALL HIS NAME
IMMANUEL,” which translated means, “GOD WITH US.”
MT 1:24
And Joseph awoke from his sleep and did as the angel of the Lord commanded him, and took Mary as his wife,
MT 1:25
but kept her a virgin until she gave birth to a Son; and he called His name Jesus.    The miracles of the birth of Jesus – such as the virgin birth, Joseph believing the angel, and then both of these young
people believing and trusting God after the birth to do as told to protect Jesus. Joseph as an adoptive father accepted
the responsibility to raise Jesus and to take care of his mother Mary.  Because of the choices to obey any and all who
choose to be righteous with God now have the opportunity to ask and to receive forgiveness of their sins.
This year as you celebrate the birth of Jesus the Son of God think of all the miracles and choices associated with this
great event in the Christian Church.

THE COMING MESSSIAH

ISA 9:6For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. ISA 9:7There will be no end to the increase of His government or of peace, On the throne of David and over his kingdom, To establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness From then on and forevermore. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will accomplish this.ISA 7:14“Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, a virgin will be with child and bear a son, and she will call His name ImmanuelISA 53:4Surely our griefs He Himself bore, And our sorrows He carried; Yet we ourselves esteemed Him stricken, Smitten of God, and afflicted. ISA 53:5But He was pierced through for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; The chastening for our well-being fell upon Him, And by His scourging we are healed. ISA 53:6All of us like sheep have gone astray, Each of us has turned to his own way; But the LORD has caused the iniquity of us all To fall on Him.ISA 55:6Seek the LORD while He may be found; Call upon Him while He is near. ISA 55:7Let the wicked forsake his way And the unrighteous man his thoughts; And let him return to the LORD, And He will have compassion on him, And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon. ISA 55:8“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” declares the LORD.ISA 55:11So will My word be which goes forth from My mouth; It will not return to Me empty, Without accomplishing what I desire, And without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it.    Because of the disobedience of the Sons of Israel approximately 700 B. C. God prophesized He was going to send His Son Immanuel or Jesus.  There was going to be a tremendous responsibility and burden for the Son of God.      The Son of God was going to have authority in the government of God.  Jesus was going to have a part in the process God had planned for the forgiveness of sin.  Jesus was going to be an integral part in the forgiveness of sin.  Isaiah 53    Because the sons of Israel were disobedient to the word of God, God was establishing a new government in His Kingdom and Jesus was going to be of extreme importance in this new government.  This new government was going to be much different.  This new covenant was even going to include the Gentile people.    The people of the 700 B.C. time were involved in the pursuit of selfishness. Thus God prophesized the grief and the burden Jesus was to bear for the sins of the people.  There would be forgiveness of sin – true forgiveness. “And by His scourging we are healed”    Because Jesus had authority over God’s creation and the fact that Jesus was able to bring forgiveness of sin with his death on the cross, the resurrection and the ascension to the right hand of God the government of God rested upon Jesus. “And by His scourging we are healed”    It was prophesized by Isaiah Jesus was going to suffer much for the selfishness of man and woman. “He was crushed for our iniquities” “But He was pierced through for our transgressions”.    Even though this time of year has become so commercialized – a sign of selfishness – there are many in the CHURCH who still understand the celebration we have this time of year. “For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us;”     “Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, a virgin will be with child and bear a son, and she will call His name Immanuel”    JESUS IS BORN    God in his infinite wisdom prophesized 700 BC that he would send His Son to bring forgiveness of son. ISA 53:6All of us like sheep have gone astray, Each of us has turned to his own way; But the LORD has caused the iniquity of us all To fall on Him.God understood the state of mankind in there selfishness.  The system God established with the sacrifices was not working.  God understood the needto be a systemof forgiveness of sin through Jesus

Give Thanks

The original Thanksgiving feast by the Pilgrims came at the conclusion of a successful harvest.  The produce of the crops and the vegetables was bountiful.  There would be food for this winter.  The Pilgrims had learned how to grow food for themselves and for their animals.
Here in the Southern Great Lakes area the harvest for the fall is concluding.  It appears the harvest was good.  The corn and beans for the most part have been good.  Some isolated spots have suffered from the lack of rain, but overall the crop was good.  Even the reports for the vegetable crops have been good.
There have no reports of any serious injuries or accidents.  Things are good for the agriculture production in the area. But there are those for whom times are really though.  Some are unemployed and some are underemployed.  It is difficult to provide for the needs of their families.  Our church here in town has started a ministry to help those who are in need of food and assistance.  The Church provides boxes of food and supplies for those who qualify.  The Church just last week opened a Matthews Market on the Church property.  The building is updated and heated and has been turned into a market place where those who qualify may come get food and other home supplies.  Along with that service the patrons must agree to participate in educational sessions on adequate nutrition, food preparations and budgeting.  There are sessions where they learn how to make the items given used for the best.  The Church and Mathews Market are being extremely blessed.  Farmers are donating animals to be butchered for meat for those in need.  Other people are buying food products and donating them to the market.  God is really blessing the Church.  People are being saved and are growing in their relationship to God.
The Church has also stated a “Just Work It Out” program.  This is a program for those who are unemployed who want to work.  They gather at the Church daily to work either at the Church or for some person in need.  Before they can even work for the day they must be there for the devotional and study time.  They work in maintaining the Church property or in the case of Matthews Market they work to renovate the building.  If there is someone in the church who needs help, the elderly, the sick, or whoever those in “Work It Out” help them.  In return they are given food to eat and they are provided with food or assistance for their families.  This ministry is supported through the church.  Again God provides the support needed.  A recent testimony from a participant in the work it out program testified he was saved from sin he was able to keep his marriage and family together and is now providing for their needs.  God is blessing THE CROSS in Rochester.
RO 8:13 for if you are living according to the flesh, you must die; but if by the Spirit you are putting to death the deeds of the body, you will live.
RO 8:14 For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.
RO 8:15 For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, “ Abba! Father!”
RO 8:16 The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God,
RO 8:17 and if children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him so that we may also be glorified with Him.  NASB
Ministries done in the spirit of God expecting results will be extremely blessed by God.  The outcome will be blessings for all.  God must be in charge.  It must be all of God.  Is God in complete control of you?  Those who are living in the Spirit of God are being blessed.  For this all who are with God should be very thankful.  Be thankful for the Blessing of God.
Count your blessings.  GOD IS GREAT, GOD IS GOD

JN 3:3 Jesus answered and said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
JN 3:5 Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
JN 3:6 “That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
JN 3:7 “Do not be amazed that I said to you, ‘You must be born again

The common theme seems to be the importance of being in a right relationship with God.  In other words one must be saved.  Not only should one come to a point of repentance to start a relationship with God but one must understand they need to maintain that relationship with God.
There are preachers who are great at evangelism a gift from God.  They deem it their ministry to be sure everyone they come into contact with hears the word of God and has the opportunity to have a relationship with God.  There is a certain personality that fits into that ministry.  Their personality allows them to be confrontational in their approach with people.  This is not a criticism of these ministries, they are needed.
But these ministries also need the help of others to work in association with those they lead to a right relationship with God.  They need another personality to follow-up to shepherd those who have been led to a right relationship with God.
Col. 1:9-12 says one is to increase in the knowledge of God and to develop and maintain that relationship started with the evangelist.

COL 1:9 For this reason also, since the day we heard of it, we have not ceased to pray for you and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding,
COL 1:10 so that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;
COL 1:11 strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, for the attaining of all steadfastness and patience; joyously
COL 1:12 giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in Light.

In the business world it has been observed there are those who are very good with ideas, taking a risk, develop the concept and then to put it in place.  But once the concept begins to work and grow they begin to become bored with that idea and they are ready to move on to the next project.   Someone is needed to follow up with them to keep these projects going, keeping all the pieces in place and to keep the project moving.  These two personalities are needed to work together to make things successful.  The innovator may become irritated with the follow-up person.  The follow up person has a lower key at doing things but they are steady and will get things done.  The innovator works on a much more excited tone.  They are all needed and they work together making each other successful.
This same personality concept applies to the ministry of God.  The evangelist is keyed on leading individuals to a relationship with God but they also need someone to follow-up to shepherd the people.  The ministries do overlap some but there main ministry does have clear goals.  The evangelist may become impatient with the people whose ministry is shepherding people.  Helping the saved maintain their relationship with God.
All are important in the kingdom of God and each must understand and accept the ministry of the other.  Each must not push their ministry and methods on the other.  Accept it that God has a gift for everyone.  All are needed in the Kingdom of God.
Now go and do the ministry God has for you.  Fit into God’s mold for you not into the mold of someone else.

“Let us make man in our image”…. Gen 1:26
When God said he was going to make man in his image, is this a physical image or is this referring to the spiritual image?  Since theologians agree there is no physical being for God to copy to make man then this verse must refer to the spiritual image of God.  God in his infinite wisdom designed man a physical being to occupy the earth and to obey His commandments.
In the creation of man and woman, God created man biologically similar to that of animals. The physical systems of the body of man are similar to animals.  But there is one major difference.  Man and woman are given a spiritual being that was created in the image of God.  As one studies the Bible and the character of God one must be very careful to make the distinction in the worship of God.  Spiritual worship is what is important to have a true relationship with God.  Even though many choose to worship God through the physical body and the physical things of the earth.  Is this truly worshiping God or is this the worshiping the creation?
To worship God we must worship Him in Spirit:
RO 12:1 Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.
RO 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.
Do not be offended we are not animals even though we could have been an animal if it were for not the gift from God at creation of the spiritual being given to man and woman.  The spiritual being was given to man and woman to distinguish the human creation from the animal creation.  The human creation of God has more responsibility than the animal creation.  Man and woman was given the ability to make moral decisions – to choose right or wrong – to follow after God as designed or to follow after selfishness.
The functions of the human body and many of the parts of the human body are similar to that of many animals.  The body organs serve many of the same functions.  The eyes to see,  the ears to hear, the digestive system to take in nourishment to sustain the body, the heart and the arteries and the blood vessels to pump and circulate the blood, the lungs to take in oxygen for the body to function.  A study of these systems in an animal and a study of these systems in the human body reveal they function much the same in both man and animal.
So the human body is much like the animal body BUT there is a big difference in the human being as a whole and also the animal.  Man was given a spiritual being to occupy his mind like the spirit of God and His son Jesus.  Man has the responsibility to operate under Moral Government.  Man and woman are given laws to which they should obey but can choose not to obey thus live separated from God.  The animal operates under the laws of instinct to which the outcome is always the same. A stimulus is provided and the outcome is the same.
Man and woman are to make decisions based upon the information presented to them.  Communion and fellowship with God is possible if they choose to obey the information given to them from God.  They must live a life free from sin. But if they choose to disobey they will suffer separation from God.  Mankind has a responsibility to God, to their fellowman, and to themselves.  Will man and woman choose to obey the stimulus presented to them?
Man and woman biologically are created similar to the animals physically but they have the responsibility to obey the moral laws of God.  Man and woman are not to act like animals even though they have been created similar biologically.
Do not be caught in some of the recent movements that claim that animals have the same rights as people.  Some groups claim animals must have a soul and the ability to make moral decisions like that of man and woman.  Animals cannot make choices, so they do not have the same rights as people.  They are animals and operate under the laws of instinct.  Mankind operates under the Moral Laws of God.
Read the scriptures, stay close to God – do not get caught up in modern day movements. These movements are searching for a god but they do not have God.
Know God and what God is expecting of you.

NON MORAL CREATION

posted on this date   November 4th, 2011 . by Jerry Leavell
In the beginning God created.  Genesis 1 – during the first days the material creation and the animal creation was made by God. At the end of each day during creation God saw what was made that day and proclaimed it was either good or very good.  Animal and the material creation operate under laws and rules different from the moral creation.  The law of cause and affect rules the non-animate non moral creation.  The law of instinct rules the animal creation.  (Moral laws are used to regulated mankind)
In the beginning of creation God established laws to govern the non-moral creation to keep creation operating systematically as intended for the non-moral creation to operate.  These laws of operation were established at the beginning so that the world would operate in a cooperative systematic order.  All of the non-moral creation was established to work in conjunction with each other.
Animals use the fruit and seeds of the plant for food – squirrels eat nuts, some animals forage for grass, deer and cattle and other animals, eat the grain from the plants.  Some animals and insects also help the plants – bees carry pollen from one plant to another animals carry seeds of plants from one location to another.  As the animals help scatter the seeds to other locations this assists in propagation of the plant species and the spreading of seeds.  The wind also assists in the scattering of plant seeds.
As one observes the non-moral creation one should be fascinated with the amazing greatness of God in creating all of this creation.  The creation works together to complement and assist each other in survival.
The greatness of God is very evident in the non-moral creation.  Just to observe this creation is amazing and to see the greatness of God.  Just how can this all be without a great creator who created and then established laws to regulate this creation?
The animal kingdom operates under the law of instinct.  The birds that migrate to warmer climates during the winter then they go north during the warmer season.  Normally the birds return to the location they left the year before.  Some animals naturally collect nuts and fruit for food storage for the cold winter months.  Animals that spend the winter in the colder northern regions their hair coat becomes thicker to provide for warmth in the cold.  Animals seem to have the instinct to find unique ways to use nature to keep warm.  In colder climates the cows and their calves stay healthier if they are allowed to be out in the open rather than to be penned up to get inside of barns.  They just need some type of wind break.  Animals in the wild and some   domestic animals seem to know when the weather will be changing.  Some animals will eat more just before a storm.  It seems as if they know the weather will be bad eating enough to get them through the storms.  God has created the animals with the instinct to survive and to provide for the young.  Watch birds and animals in the wild.  You can learn much about God’s character.  God did not create animals with a soul as He did man.  Pets over time can be trained to do and to react in specific ways.  These just become habits for the animals.
God has used the animals to benefit His Kingdom.  The donkey that Paul was riding saw the image of God moved to the side of the road.  Paul was not able to control the animal, and then God spoke to Paul using the donkey to get Paul’s attention. It was through this that God spoke to Paul.  It was through the donkey first then the bright light that God got Paul’s attention.  It was through this situation God was able to talk with Paul and Paul then after seeking forgiveness Paul became a preacher/teacher for God.  Just slow down and observe the animal kingdom.  Observe animals interacting with other animals and the environment.  If you take time to observe God’s creation, you have to be amazed at God’s character.   The instinct of the animals can’t be just an accident.  This creation had to be planned.
The wind can also be a blessing.   Ex 14:21 Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and all that night the LORD drove the sea back with a strong east wind and turned it into dry land. The waters were divided,   GE 8:1 But God remembered Noah and all the beasts and all the cattle that were with him in the ark; and God caused a wind to pass over the earth, and the water subsided.
Wind as it blows across the surface of the ground tends to draw moisture from the ground.  Those who work with the soil understand this principle.  Farmers for example rely upon the wind in the spring to dry the ground so they can work the soil to plant there spring crops.  They also rely upon the wind in the fall of the year to dry the soil enough so the farmer can drive his equipment over the ground to harvest the crop.
In these scriptures God used the wind blowing over the surface of the ground to dry the ground for the crossing of the sea and then after the flood the wind was used to dry the ground.  The law God established at creation using the wind to dry the ground.  This is a law of cause and effect.
The creation of the animals and the other material creation were created to be regulated by non-moral laws much different than the moral laws established to regulate and to guide man and woman.  The will be more discussion on the moral law in later.
There is an understanding of the greatness of God in the material and the animal creation.  How God has made this part of the creation for the benefit and enjoyment of mankind.  Seasonal changes occur every year. The instinct of animals causes them to discern the seasonal changes preparing for the changes in the material creation.  All creation works together for the benefit of all.
Isn’t it fascinating how GREAT OUR GOD is to have developed the creation to work together perfectly?  (Even though mankind has made decisions that has cause problems in the great creation.)  GOD IS GREAT.
